Diabetes is a disease that causes insufficient insulin production or low sensitivity to insulin. Prolonged levels of high blood sugar circulating leads to damaging effects on the feet. Two main problems occur in people with diabetes called :

Diabetes leads to changes in the blood vessels including arteries, fatty deposits block vessels leading to reduced flow. This reduced flow leads to pain, infection and wounds that heal slowly leading to Diabetic Feet. This may also lead to amputation if not treated early.

Long standing Diabetes can cause nerve damage to the feet making it hard for people to feel sensation in their extremities. This condition prevents people from feeling the sensation in their extremities leading to cuts, sores, ulcers that can lead to gangrene. Symptoms of Diabetic Foot

  • Loss of feeling
  • Numbness or tingling sensation
  • Blisters or other wounds without pain
  • Skin discoloration
  • Temperature changes in skin

  • Stains on socks

  • Chills
